Other Useful Information

Although the best way to visit a city is on foot, it is always useful to know the transport of the place, to save time when traveling, to access remote areas or because the hotel is not centrally located. It is not advisable to move around the city by car because of the difficult traffic in Madrid and the easy public transport.

Underground
The fastest means of transport, clean, efficient and that most people use in Madrid. The price of the single ticket is 1.50 euros.

Bus
They are slower but are more pleasant journeys. And you can go enjoy the city streets.

Trains
May be useful for metropolitan routes or to make excursions.

Taxis
Transport more expensive but leaves you in the door. Should know their rates.

Airport
By bus you can access through the Barajas Airport Express Line, a service that ensures the connection between the airport and the city 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The tickets cost only 2 euros, being the cheapest rate of major European cities that have a similar service.
Metro line 8, New Ministries-Barajas, communicates directly all the airport terminals to the center of the capital. The service is worth two euros, including "airport surcharge".
